Looking for durable plain
dinnerware? |
1. Will my image wear off? No, the ceramic color image is permanently fused to the glaze and will not wear or fade with normal use. We fire at temperatures approaching 1500 degrees. Some companies fire at lower glass temperatures and their images will wear. Ours will not. (Please note that metals like gold and platinum sit on top of the glaze and will wear with use) 2. Will my chinaware be food safe? Yes, we won’t produce it if it isn’t. The china itself is completely lead-free. Some image colors, like red, require lead. If we think that the lead will exceed FDA and/or Prop 65 requirements, we can print a flux (glaze) over the color to encapsulate it. We can also test the lead compliance using an independent lab. Rest assured that your chinaware will be in compliance with all applicable regulations. 3. Are there Intellectual Property Issues with printing logos? Yes. If you don’t own the art, we’ll require proof that you are permitted to use the art. For example, you can’t commission us to produce NFL dinnerware if you don’t own the rights. 4. Can you reproduce photographs? We can, but is a different, more expensive process. The vast majority of our work is done with spot, ie individual colors vs. 4 color process work. We’d be happy to quote according to your needs. 5. Can I have the whole rim decorated? Yes. There is no limitation regarding decoration area. We can decorate the front, the back, or both. 6. Do you produce logo’d glassware too? Yes. We utilize the same types of decorating processes for glass as we do for chinaware. The only difference being that glass requires different color and different firing temperatures. Because of this we "gang up" our glassware orders and only fire them once every couple of weeks. Therefore, if you order a mix of china and glass, we may have to ship your order in 2 installments. 7. Explain your quality standards? We adhere to a higher standard than normal commercial dinnerware quality. We routinely reject and destroy flawed decorated ware. Because chinaware decorating is a hand operation, there may be very minor variations that are characteristic of the process and add to it’s appeal. Please feel free to contact regarding any quality concerns. 8. Can I get a fired sample of my china before I order? Yes, however it can get quite expensive since it takes as much setup to produce one plate as it does to produce hundreds. That’s why we’ve instituted our “no charge” digital proofing services. We find that 99% of the time, a digital proof fits the bill! 9. Can I put my logo on my existing china? Not
advisable. Most china that’s been in use can’t hold up to the stress of firing.
Breakage would be likely. 10. Do you have any minimum order requirements? Yes. Because of the amount of time required in artwork preparation, making screens, printing & applying decal we must maintain a minimum order of 144 pieces for any type of logo'd design. If we didn't do this we wouldn't be able to keep the prices reasonable. If you are just looking to have simple colored, or precious metal bands applied to your chinaware then we can work with a minimum order of 72 pieces. Banding is a different process than logo decoration.
